Burst Fade
A fade that curves around the ear — bold, clean, built for texture.
The burst fade arcs in a semicircle around the ear and tapers down the back of the neck, leaving weight and length through the crown and nape. It's the go-to when you want an edgier, textured finish — it pairs beautifully with curly tops, mohawks and mullets, and keeps a softer, rounded shape than a straight fade. Gary and Ivan blend it tight around the ear and feather it out so there's no hard line where you don't want one.

What makes it a burst
The 'burst' is the semicircle of taper that radiates out from around the ear. Instead of shaving the back of the neck to a straight line, we leave it longer and let the fade fan out — that's what gives the burst its rounded, dramatic silhouette and why it sits so well with texture on top.
How we cut it
We start tight at the ear and blend outward in a curve, keeping the nape natural. Length up top is your call — the burst plays especially well with curls and crops — so we'll talk through how you actually wear it before the clippers come out.
